Local students received an introduction to electronics and programming via Sparkfun Inventors Kits for Arduino! Rockford Robotics members guided them through lessons that demonstrated common electronics components (LEDs, resistors, potentiometers, analog sensors, and even motors) that can be used on a wide array of projects. Additionally, through the use of the Arduino embedded computing platform, students learned how to control these electronics and write programs that interact with the real world!
The June 23, 2014 session was designed for students in grades 9 – 12. The June 28, 2014 session focused on students in grades 6 – 8.
This workshop was made possible thanks to an In Youth We Trust Grant through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois and in collaboration with the 4-H Tech Wizards.
