During week 4, students continued to refine our design and do some of the initial build tasks associated with assembling our robot.
This year the team purchased a vision tracking system through FIRST Choice. A few students and mentors are learning its operation. We plan to use the system to locate the gear peg during the autonomous period. We also are exploring using the vision tracking system to auto-align the gear for placement on the gear peg during tele-op period.
Another group of students is developing a drive team test. The drive team will include a driver, operator, human player, and pilot. Positions will be awarded on how well students know the game rules, their ability to work well with other teams, grace under pressure, and of course manual dexterity.
